ARRIBA program (Advancing Respect & Retention in Bilingual Areas)
Hi! The Younger Chemists Committee of the American Chemical Society (YCC & ACS) invites you to participate in the A.R.R.I.B.A program. The ARRIBA program (Advancing Respect & Retention in Bilingual Areas) aims to provide a safe space for Spanish speaking chemists where they can interact with peers and develop professionally. The events series lines up with networking, professional development through workshops, and end up with a small research symposium with its participants. The program arises as an initiative to break language barriers within the scientific community between future chemist leaders. The first event will be carried out next Friday, April 7th at 2:00 PM (PT) via the Zoom platform. During this event, participants will have the opportunity to meet young Spanish speaking chemists, that live in different parts of the world and face similar challenges in their daily life inside the scientific community. We encourage you to be delighted by scientific diversity while meeting youth like yourself! Likewise, we want to point out that participants do not need advanced skills in the Spanish language to participate. Lastly, herein we include the registration link for the event:

¡Hola! El Comité de Jóvenes Químicos de la Sociedad Química de los Estados Unidos (YCC y ACS por sus siglas en inglés) te invita a participar del programa A.R.R.I.B.A. El programa ARRIBA (Avanzando el Respeto y Retención en Áreas Bilingües; Advancing Respect & Retention in Bilingual Areas), tiene como objetivo proveer un espacio seguro en donde químicos que hablan Español puedan interactuar con sus pares y desarrollarse profesionalmente. Su serie de eventos está dirigida a hacer “networking”, desarrollo profesional a través de talleres y finalizar con un pequeño simposio de investigación entre sus participantes. El programa surge como una iniciativa para romper barreras de idioma dentro de la comunidad científica entre futuros líderes químicos. El primer evento será llevado a cabo el próximo viernes, 7 de abril de 2023 a las 2:00 PM (PT) a través de la plataforma Zoom. Durante este evento, los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de conocer a jóvenes químicos hispanoparlantes, que viven en diferentes partes del mundo y se enfrentan a retos similares en su diario vivir dentro de la comunidad científica. ¡Le exhortamos a que disfrute de la diversidad científica mientras conoce a jóvenes como usted!
